The Judgment Day member Dominik Mysterio revealed a wild idea that WWE had planned for the iconic Ladder match between his father Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. The legendary match was part their intense feud back in the day and it was for Dominik’s custody.
Dominik Mysterio talks about the original idea
Dominik recently made an appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive he talked about his involvement with WWE as a child. An 8-year-old Dominik was involved in the legendary ladder match between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. ‘Dirty Dom’ revealed that part of WWE’s plan was to hang him over the ring. But luckily, WWE went ahead with a briefcase. He said:
“They wanted to hang me from a cage. Not even from a cage, they wanted to just actually hang me. Like on a waist thing and just have me dangle there.”

WWE wanted to hang Dominik, who was just eight years old, above the ring while his father and a close family friend fought for him below, the winner eventually setting up a ladder and climbing up there to save him. Not even in a cage, which would have been traumatizing enough, but just hanging from a hook by his waist.
Dominik Mysterio has come a long way. He might have been involved in WWE back in 2005. But it wasn’t until 2020 that he made his in-ring debut. Since then he has teamed up with his father, Rey Mysterio, won the Tag Team titles and even betrayed him when he embraced his darker side. He has also held the NXT North American title in the past. Currently, he is part of the new Judgment Day stable.
