UFC Light Heavyweight champion Alex Pereira now has an upcoming contender on the horizon, and it has been confirmed by the promotion’s head honcho, Dana White.
Alex Pereira will defend his title against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307
White broke out the news via his social media, confirming that Pereira’s next opponent will be Khalil Rountree Jr, the 34-year-old UFC veteran who is currently ranked 8th in the division. The bout is set to headline UFC 307, which will take place on October 5th at the Delta Center in Utah.

Pereira, the former UFC middleweight champion, clinched the vacant 205-pound gold against Jiří Procházka at UFC 295 in November last year. So far, “Poatan” has continued his reign with two title defenses, first against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 on 13th April, followed by a rematch against “BJP” at UFC 303. In his third title defense, the Brazilian will be facing Rountree. “The War Horse” is currently on a five-fight win streak, and in his latest outing, he defeated Anthony Smith at UFC Vegas 83 back in December last year.
