All Elite Wrestling (AEW) might be heading to Australia for a stadium show in 2025 as per Sporting News.
AEW to hold stadium show in Australia
The outlet has reported that AEW could travel Down Under for a massive stadium show next year and if it happens it will mark the first time AEW travels to Australia. The report said:
“It’s understood plans for the company’s maiden Australian show are well advanced, with sources confirming AEW powerbrokers have been scouting venues along Australia’s east coast.”
It has come to light that Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium are the potential venues for the historic show. The report further stated that entertainment company TEG is “backing the event.” However, a date for the possible PPV is yet to be determined.
Since it’s inception in 2019, the Jacksonville-based promotion has made a massive impact in the pro wrestling industry and has been widely considered WWE’s rival. Apart from USA and Canada, Tony Khan’s promotion previously hosted All In pay-per-view at the iconic Wembley Stadium, with this year’s event scheduled for the later this month. Last year’s Wembley show garnered more than 80,000 fans and now it’s an exciting prospect with a possible stadium show in Australia.
AEW’s rival, WWE recently held their Premium Live Event on the Australian soil as more than 52,000 fans attended Elimination Chamber in Perth earlier this year. Back in 2018, 70,000 fans showed up for WWE Super Show-Down at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Tony Khan and co. recently announced Wrestle Dynasty event which will take place at the Tokyo Dome on January 5 as the company continues to focus on global expansion.
