Khabib Has Reportedly Paid Off The $3.4 Million He Owed The Russian Government

Khabib Nurmagomedov is once again in the headlines, as it is reported that the former UFC Lightweight champion has paid off all his dues to the Russian government.

Khabib is one of the greatest MMA fighters ever and remains a global icon in the sport. The former 155-pound champion, who retired from the sport with an unblemished 29-0 record, is currently the co-owner of Eagle FC, a Russian MMA promotion that he founded in November 2020 following his retirement. Moreover, in the world of UFC prez Dana White, the win over Conor McGregor back at UFC 229 earned “The Eagle” lump sum money and real estate.

Khabib pays off his dues to the Russian Federal Tax Service

It was reported earlier this summer that Khabib was on bad terms with the Russian government. It was alleged that he owed them 302 million rubles in tax, or approximately $3.4 million, and even had his cars and possessions taken, as well as had his bank accounts frozen.

There were rumors that the Dagestani might come out of retirement to even the odds with the tax authorities. McGregor, his former arch-rival, took this opportunity to mock Khabib and made attempts to get the Russian out of retirement. However, it now appears that the debt has been paid.

Telegram channel Shot came forward with the report, claiming that Khabib has paid off all his dues to the Russian Federal Tax Service, and the MMA legend should be getting his cars and possessions returned to him soon.
