Khamzat Chimaev Targets Dricus du Plessis with Controversial Homophobic Slur

UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev has targetted UFC Middleweight Champion Dricus du Plessis during a recent X spaces conversation. However, he sparked controversy with his comments.

Khamzat Chimaev calls Dricus du Plessis ‘African Gay’

Ahead of his clash against Robert Whittaker, Khamzat Chimaev hosted a spaces conversation on X and was joined by his friend and former UFC fighter Darren Till. They spoke about MMA-related topics before eventually moving on to the middleweight title picture. Chimaev decided to take som bold digs at du Plessis. Borz made it clear that his goal is to bring the Middleweight title back to “normal people”. He could be heard saying:

“We need to get the title back for the normal people man. This gay [du Plessis] who have the belt. Not normal. First time I’ve ever seen/heard like African gay.”

Khamzat Chimaev is gearing up for a No.1 contender’s match against Robert Whittaker on October 26 at UFC 308. They were originally scheduled to collide in the octagon back in June. However, Chiemaev pulled from the fight due to an undisclosed illness.

The 30-year-old earned his shot against ‘The Reaper’ last year as he faced short-notice replacement Kamaru Usman in a middleweight bout at UFC 294. They went head to head in an incredible bout and Chimaev won via majority decision.
