AEW recently filed to trademark “AEW: Shockwave” for the purpose of “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.” During All Out post-show press conference, the promotion’s President Tony Khan was asked what the trademark meant and he replied [via Fightful]:
“It would be safe to say that AEW is set to create a shockwave throughout all of professional wrestling. I think people are going to be talking about what they saw at AEW All Out, which was a huge business success for us, did really really well at the NOW Arena, big sell out show, and also really well on pay-per-view. I think it bodes well and creates anticipation for Dynamite. We’ll continue to send that shockwave through the world of professional wrestling here at AEW,” said Tony.

WWE SmackDown recently ended its 5-year run on FOX and that show is moving to USA Network. Next week’s edition of the show on September 13 will mark its season premiere on USA Network.
The promotion is currently in talks with Warner Brothers Discovery regarding a new media rights deal between the two parties. The negotiation has been in progress for months but Tony Khan has been hopeful to agree on the deal. He even recently stated that the weekly shows on TBS and TNT “to stay.” The promotion currently has three shows, Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.
We will have to wait and see what Tony Khan has in store for the fans.
