18 years since The Miz wresled his first SmackDown match
‘The A Lister’ recently took to his social media account and sent out a heartfelt message as he reached a major milestone in his decorated wrestling career.
The former WWE Champion recently took to Instagram to send a heartfelt message as it has been 18 years since he made his in-ring debut on WWE’s main roster. In his post’s caption, The Miz asked who would have thought that he would become the first-ever wrestler to become a two-time Grand Slam Champion.
“On this day, September 1st, 2006 I had my first match on Smackdown against Tatanka. Anyone else think this kid would become the 1st 2-time Grand Slam Champion?” he wrote.
The Miz is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever grace the ring. He made his debut in WWE back in 2004 as a participant of Tough Enough. Despite of not winning the show, he was offered a WWE contract. He started performing for the company’s then-developmental territory Deep South Wrestling (DSW).
In some years, The Miz made his way into the main roster and made his debut on the September 1, 2006, episode of SmackDown, where he battled Tatanka. The A-Lister went on to become one of the household names and he is a 2-time WWE Grand Slam Champion. He recently had a WWE World Tag Team Championship run with R-Truth.
