WWE Hall of Famer Kane (now known as Glenn Jacobs) is one of the most popular figures in pro wrestling. He is in the headlines again, but this time, its related to his off-the-ring ventures into politics.
The WWE Hall of Famer, who held the WWF/E Championship, ECW Championship and World Heavyweight Championship, alongside being a 12-time tag team champion, stepped into politics back in 2017 when he decided to run for mayor in Knox County, Tennessee as a Republican. The following year, Jacobs won the seat by defeating his Democratic opponent Linda Haney, and won the second term in 2022.
Kane feels there’s more to achieve on local and state level
The two-time mayor recently made an appearance on the Maintaining with Tyrus podcast, where Jacobs was enquired about whether he desires to run for the presidency in the upcoming 2024 United States elections.
The 57-year-old, however, showed no interest in setting a sight for Washington D.C, while emphasizing on making impacts on local and state level.
“No, it’s not. I have no desire to go to Washington DC,” Kane said on the show. “I think that there’s a lot of things that can be done at the local and state level, especially at the state level,”
